New Year, New Store Updates

Happy Holidays and happy New Year to all of our awesome customers, family, and friends. This holiday season has been very busy for the Kelowna Rocks & Gems team, and we have you to thank for that! We have now been open for over 5 months, and it has went by incredibly fast. We have appreciated all of your business, but more importantly, your support. We can’t thank you enough for your positive reviews, liking and commenting on our posts, tagging us in your social media posts, and just spreading the word about our new store!

This holiday season brought some new themed products, such as Christmas advent calendars, gift boxes, Christmas mystery bags, and more. I hope you have enjoyed these holiday items, it was a lot of fun to create them. We were thrilled by the response we received when we first mentioned the possibility of advent calendars – we decided to make 50 of them, and almost completely sold out! We will definitely be doing these again for next Christmas. We will also continue to provide fun themed products for other holidays and special days (i.e Valentine’s, Mother’s Day, Halloween).

The new year is going to bring a lot of changes to the store. We are so excited to expand – we have now leased the unit behind ours, and we will be sub-leasing to the 1120 Rock Club! There will be more information to come, but this will mean club members will finally have a workshop to cut and polish their own rocks. If you aren’t a member yet, check out the club website for more information. We are also hoping to do lessons/workshops/classes on different topics related to lapidary work and jewelry-making. Stay tuned for a workshop schedule and more information about classes. The expansion is also going to include the retail store, we are planning on shrinking our workshop space to increase the retail space, which means more products! It will also mean that there may be times when you visit the store and there may be work going on, we apologize for any inconveniences.

January also brings an exciting adventure for the Kelowna Rocks & Gems team. We are planning on making a trip down to Tucson, Arizona for the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. This is one of the largest shows in the world and it will have vendors from all over. We should be able to pick up a great selection of specimens, display pieces, rough, fossils, etc. We are looking forward to providing some new products in the store. We are always open to feedback if you have any suggestions of items you would like to see in the store as well! I will definitely be doing an entire blog post about the Tucson Gem Show once we get back in early February.

We are looking forward to being your #1 rock shop in town. Don’t hesitate to message us, call us, or come to the shop for any questions. Our business hours will remain Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00am to 4:30pm for the winter. We will see if we want to extend the hours come spring and summer. As always, if you are not able to make it during business hours, shoot me a message and we can figure something out!

Lastly, if you have a had a positive experience at the shop, online, or at one of the markets we attend, we would truly appreciate a review! You can leave us a review on Google, or on Facebook. We are also so grateful to all the people who have followed us on both Facebook and Instagram, it means a lot!
